I needed to lift my PP1500 off the carpet as it had not enough air circulation. Somewhere in the PurePower materials I read that vibration isolation is advisable, so I decided to kill two birds with one stone. I've got a set of nice metal roller foot...
Anthony, I'm sure you realize that air springs and bearings can only isolate from the structure born vibrations. Placing the tubes so close to the speakers you give them a great chance to catch strong airborne vibrations. Or will ...

Interesting… I was under suspicion that only Vibraplan allows LF decoupling but here is another California company the offers an alternative solution.

The Vibraplans did work fine and the principle was very simple, I read wha...

The problem of most solutions in high end audio is "one step forward, two steps back". Personally I prefer to hear all information/dynamics of sound even if the sound is out of control.when I use Isolation Transformer, AC filters (both parallel and ...

It took a LOT of time in CAD using what I had learnt from building the power supplies and then adapting it to match the requirements of the rest of the system. I have decided to mount the DSET on the horn stack and direct connect the speaker cables....

I ran across this Negative stiffness isolation platform (the anti Viagra??) independently but I should have known the Cat had pounced years earlier. It is hard to tell how much the concept has advanced since 2007 as I only found one firm doing it (Mi...
I do not know if “stupid, indiscriminative mass loading is a road to nowhere”.
Let me try to explain why I think so. Adding mass (e.g. sand+shot loading of steel profiles):1) makes the vibration amplitude smaller f...

So I am currently working towards this concept for my Macondo (see below) and I have just the Upperbass horns left to turn and prep. I am thinking about how to best integrate the DSET with Macondo and have come up with something like this… Perha...

Making my little research on vibration isolation, I came across those fantastic pictures hereof how Proscenium suspension is made:http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/walker9/2.htmlI've always thought that he uses some custom-made pneumatics, but those ...

Audio people frequently go astray in their thinking and actions and this creates a good breeding ground for all possible audio sale opportunists. I would like to explore one moment that has not a lot of public attention and to look at the moment slig...

Paul, as you write the pendulum effect is unfortnately unavoidable if one wants the levelingfreedome of spikes, so I try to live with that. I looked at Walker...tjaa....$1750 for a record clamp...I also saw how he works on his suspension (look at my ...

Hi N-Set, I am three quarters of the way through assembling the first power supply to power-up stage so I have not tested the "singing" as yet. It is something that I have thought a lot about. First and foremost I wanted a steel skin around the pow...

A very nice made rack. I do not know if “stupid, indiscriminative mass loading is a road to nowhere”. To me all of the solutions with rack design are road to nowhere. There are many reasons why some of the solutions are better or worse and they all d...
Oh, by suspension, I meant the tuned spring suspension that the versa (and many other 'tables) use to isolate the plinth platter, and arm from vibrations coming up through the floor and the stand. I don't think of a platter bear...

OK, I understand now when you talk about suspension and will translate to "bearing". I don't know if it needs to be the turntable or the stand but something needs to be responsible for isolation. I have heard good things about the vibraplane and wo...

Agree, it is very good. For the vibration isolation, I would
worry only about the driver tubes. If you have some money to waste then you might
look for ALNIC made tube sockets vibration dumpers. They are VERY effective and

You can improve the vibration decoupling by lessening the weight on the horn mouth edge.
There is no need for the edge of the horn mouth to bear a great deal of the weight of the heavy end of the horn, although that seems your current plan. Th...

Maybe make a manifold and mount drivers vertically in push pull. No sagging, much less vibration. But I would not use fiberglass insulation behind the bass channel and remove any existing fiberglass in that area, replace with cotton/denim insulat...
