Surely all audio components would ideally be transparent not specifically the pre-amplifier. I have yet to hear any audio components that really are. (and I wouldn't be able to hear them if they were!)...

[quote user="drdna"] Yes, we are saying the same thing. The problem as I have found it is that transparency is easily recognized and so there is a tendency for audiophiles to focus on this when they try to improve their systems, and this can ma...

Guy, I am not sure that “all audio components would ideally be transparent” as most of the audio components perform own actions: gain change or different type of conversions. Preamp, in contrary, mostly performs no actions or if it is in unity gain i...

The guys like J.G. Holt brought to the wide public the things, from which “all the crap begun”. Holt was the first who came up in mass-publication with a concept of looking at the music through the dirty window where his new term “transparency” is cl...

Hi Samuel, I see that quite a few replies without much in the way of suggestions. Romy will not give you what you want, ie. a shopping list of speakers to audition, but I will give you one or two recommendations that I think sound quite good in...

Interesting that a notion of an Absolutely Transparent Stage is kind of bizarre. Let presume that we do have an Absolutely Transparent, musically and sonically, stage. The stage might be transparent only with own enclosed scope. If a stage modifies t...

Chris,
The point of digital delay is well taken. Digital has no problems to delay and if someone had only digital as source then it is very simple to use tow parallel DACs and to stick temporary storage memory in one or them. In case of multiple so...
