I'm about 60 miles away in Rhode Island, obviously we don't have any dealers here; Boston seems the best bet. Do you know of any dealers in Boston who carry the Dynavector line?...

is that the operating word is "Turntable Collection". The Air Force One (hate the name!) is the culmination of the great Micro Seiki's coming full circle and once again starting a new chapter in high end analog reproduction, this completes my MS COLL...

Yes, it's might be interesting. I was thinking about it when I had both systems back to back. It was superbly interesting time for me. The decisions to remove Macondo from my listening room was a result of unadulterated anger I felt because in my...

tarted to mount the open baffle for ULF channels at my
attic. The system is fully operational,
not time aligned yet to the degree that I would like it to be but I'm going to
tell you: that Tannoy Red 10 is something that makes everything so sweet...

I know it has very little to do with the Magico Ultimate, but Romy had one line in the AV thread that deserves to be preserved here, in case the moderators of that forum "vandalize" it:quote: "If we have a dinner and you eat a bowel movement as your ...

Must add that there is also a "break-in" phenomenon with power cords, as there is with other cables, further contributing to the confusion.Borrowing pre-owned cables from some place may be a good idea, but one doesn't know how long they've been used....

Re: Masur Shosty 5th ...You’re just about losing your virginity, Dorothy. As many debates musical people have about the tempos and style of playing the “Allegro non troppo” of the Fifth the recording I sent you answers ...

...I'd have deleted it too. The essay was way more about you than the music, and the sideswipes at BMI were entirely gratuitous.Their review of the M2 was however the most frivolous piece of writing about serious music I've read since, oh, 1958.The p...

I find that all SET amps slightly electrify the sound of acoustic instruments. For example, an acoustic guitar will sound kind of like an electric guitar that is being played through a clean sounding guitar tube amp. Also very common...

Romy,I find much of your comments interesting, funny, and surly. As a music lover, especially of large-scale orchestral and intimate vocal (from Scheherazade to Vienna Teng), I'm open to all views. My view is that nothing is perfect and e...

[quote user="Romy the Cat"]Well, “everything is a compromise” it is true, but when you talk about compromises you are talking about purchasing decisions not about abstract sound. So, I really do not know where ML1 would be in your scale of your compr...

Romy. I understand the dilemma. People sometimes lend things to me to listen to them. I like having the opportunity to hear these things and sometimes to broaden my understanding. Publically available or not, I wouldn't express a view unl...

[quote user="Romy the Cat"]The reality is that most of audio people have extremely poor listening intelligence when they deal with audio. Listening intelligence, something that I been stressing for years, is not considered...

Romy, I actually said what you just said; sorry you did not get it. This is why your idea will "work" for me. All that "native ambience" stuff is fine; but who knows what it is, or how much, or what it's worth in a "typical" recording, let alone how ...

Actually, Beav, there is something different in your case. I think what you do it wrong. If you are a reviewer and you are in possess of writing a review about the PP2000 then I would advise you do not search online what others say but subj...

Romy, I sure give you credit for dragging just about everything into this situation and holding fast. Given "all we know" so far, the "perfect solution" for one person might be a Walkman, earbuds, and a joint.Paul S...

Thanks for the compliment Romy - nice forum site you have here !!Yes, you really must hear the Tintner 7th - a very special performance, not just the opening. If I could only keep two 7ths I think it would be the Matacic 1967 & the Tintner....

Hi RomyI'm glad the discs have arrived OK. The Nanut Eroica is good - the Bruckner 8 is GREAT. You must listen to it soon!I also look forward to your thoughts about the Mahler 5 with Wyn Morris conducting ....Golovanov? I have never...

Articulated roller handles (frames) do exist, but they are made to be adjusted and locked before use:http://www.thebossmaker.com/benefits.htmInstead I would consider using a thick, angled brush, not a paint brush, clamped to a long pole, used not in ...

[quote user="Romy the Cat"]Sure, there is nothing wrong with a transformer-attenuator if it has a pure restive load but as we know it is never the case. If we need a drop voltage elsewhere then we use resistors, right? We do not we use transformer-at...

..... he he :-)Seriously, I listened some months ago to the LL1 sig. /ML3/Alexandria combination. A perfect example for an expensive mismatch. These Wilson Speakers are a grave for those amps, midrange is ok, but no high frequency area and absolutely...

[quote user="Romy the Cat"]I have to admit that some of my opponents might consider my organizational views on high-end audio too socialistic and will recognize in my view some residues of me growing up in socialistic society. Leaving aside the preju...
