Okay, I decided bite a bullet and go to an experiment. I begin to plan how to build a version of AmpX. It will be an amplifier but it will be based upon different concept. The concept is that amplified signal is not a direct reflection of the source,...

This is a very good question and I wish I know the answer. A common logic would suggest that if one Dac is better than other than it should have better options to propel me, as a listener, to whatever destination I am trying to go. However, it se...

At this point I would like to avoid any type of comparing between ML2 and what I call AmpX. I have absolutely no idea, at this point, why ml2 sound in the way how it sound neither I understand why AmpX produces the effect it's produces. I have hy...

Plenty has been said about the Lamm ML2s, for good reason. In my first post in 2006, to start this old thread, I obviously had some difficulty describing what I was hearing. I can still remember my early sessions with these amps. What I was trying to...

Those who follow my site know that since September, I have
lived in a strange stage, questioning many things in audio due to my exposure
to what I call AmpX topology. I have 3 audio friends with whom I shared one of
the versions of AmpX and they o...

Lots of nice talk about the listening experience(s), Romy, but you still say you want to continue to analyse and understand what's going on. Are you trying other quasi-complementary amps for comparisons? When I shopped for powerful amps I found that ...

Yup. That makes sense to me. Sure, we don't understand ML2 effect well enough to draw "parallels" between AmpX and ML2. Just hoping any own-sound it turns out to be is tolerable long term. Meanwhile, Baby/Bath Water, we try not to get them confused.....

Tested my new two DACs. One of them clearly better than another. However, from musical standpoint the difference between them is not important. It's my big important in terms of the sounds but it is absolutely irrelevant in terms of musical interpret...

We presume that in order to get "It” we should hear specific
sounds. If the sound by a playback is just a decoded surrogate non-live surrogate
sound, then it is possible that in order to get "It” we need not the
original sounds but very specifical...

Well, I do not understand what's going on here, but that's just a starting point. Still, I suppose you are on to "something", based on personal experience, also things we have already written about on these pages. If we are looking for "something tha...

We laugh when we share the idea of the silly audiophile with just a dozen "audiophile-quality" recordings to listen to. I think there are any number of ways to wind up in a tactically similar situation. Agreed that the best one hears from ones system...

This is very loaded respond because there are a few layers in it.
Layer number one, you had an opportunity to be exposed to ML2 which certainly has impact to a listening perception. It is not the only one which has this ca...

Okay I eventually connected my tested Tannoy red readers to my Rebel. So far so good, that sound but the connections... Now I need to work on integration and crossover. This time I'm willing to do it completely different. I have no control ...
