Another problem in my new listening room.

The appendix in the corner of my room (I think it called rotunda) is very cool thing – it is where all my equipment lives – superbly comfortable and I can’t dream for better layout of my listening room. I am not kidding. However, there is one however. The appendixes collect bass from all room and run at least 12dB more bass then the listening spot. It does not bother my auditably but the  appendix is the location what my TT sits and I do not like the idea that TT is located at the most bass active location in the room. I did not setup my along yet (wait until the midbass project go through with all associated with it dust) and therefore I was not able to observe if it has any sonic impact.  I am sure that I will be able to deal with suspension TT from floor but the airborne pressure makes me to be concerned.

Romy,

I made 4" thick pressed fiberglass panels and put them across corners. Pretty effective, very noticeable difference, specially when standing in that corner. I think you will get too much feedback into your TT, even if it's suspended, specially with those new mid-bass horns loading the room.

I would suggest cutting off that appendix with 6" pressed fiberglass (covered in burlap), floor to ceiling and stuffing the empty area behind it with more soft absorption material. After that, moving your TT to another room!
