Actually the kids sometime can play. It is two blocks from and it is free:

Benjamin Zander, Conductor of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, will conduct a FREE concert with the Youth Orchestra of the Americas

Seventy-five of the most talented young musicians from across the Western Hemisphere, joined by world-class conductors, faculty, and guest artists, embark on an international tour of concerts and community outreach programs. New England Conservatory is one of the founding partners of the Youth Orchestra of the Americas.

This free orchestral concert is led by Benjamin Zander of the NEC faculty, music director of the Boston Philharmonic and of NEC's Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. The program features soloist Gabriela Montero in Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2, Dvorak's Symphony No. 9, "From the New World," and Bernstein's Candide Overture.
