Thanks, Rick, but I used Visaton TL16H horns, and I am quoite happy with the results, as I share in the thread.Did you build the TL1s?Best regardsPaul S...

Hello Romy,I don´t know how much sensitivity you can sacrifice, but maybe the Visaton Ti 100 could be worth a try. With an EBP of 155 it should be more or less horn-suitable (I didn´t simulate), it has a horribly undampened titanium diaphra...
You may well have more knowledge than I.
I take that back. I had decided not to post on this thread anymore, but since so many of the terms you use, Horst, are new to me, I was intrigued to find out if I had been missing...

This project started in 2007 as an attempt to demonstrate that drivers different from the widely accepted low-Qts ones could be used in a back-loaded horn enclosures.Visaton BG13P, a cheap and easy-to-get (at least in Europe) driver was chosen, basic...

Another tool used by sound pros is LEAP. The guy who designed my BassZillas (some time ago) used this tool to make the most of a BR enclosure. As for the Fostex (U)HF, the pros tend to correct them digitally, as they need "something". Mainly, did you...

Hello Romy!I just listened to this system http://www.hornfabrik-eder.de/index.htm which has an 8" Görlich in the upper bass horn and I couldn´t find anything "inherently faulty" about > 4" without compression. The kettledrums sounde...

Hello Romy and everyone, I am going to order a pair of 400Hz/1" tractrix horns from http://www.stereo-lab.de/tractrix.html to replace/compare with a pair of 500Hz TAD-like square mouth horns. These are to be used initially with the drivers that ...
I gather the Acapella plasma tweeters have a catalyst so you don't get the nasty oxides/ozone etc. Got some old ionofanes on the way so will know soon how well they freshen up the room... They are self-amplified so efficiency ...

Like I’ve said, my aim was to find/build a pair of
speakers that could be driven “full range” by one of my Marantz MA-9S2 amps per
stereo channel, and these speakers would have to give me greater insight into
Bruckner in order to fill the bill. I ...

I’m thinking I’ve never mentioned on this board that the
listening room I’ve used for the past 16 years is 21’ X 17 ½’ X 8’. It has three large openings into a very
large house, including a long, wide hallway and successive open rooms. This

So far, the The Loudspeakers have handled everything I
have tasked them with, and I have actually gotten a lot more in the way of
Music than I imagined I would when I started with The Loudspeakers. I haven’t
tried to alter these speakers in any wa...

At some point recently I became particularly aware of the
fact that the sound from the Loudspeakers has transformed significantly over
the five months that I’ve used them, not in the sense that the character of The
Loudspeakers has changed, ra...

The Loudspeaker (Troels Gravesen project); a report started "too soon" because they've taken sooo long to build, and they fired right up (first try), and they already do Music!
For some time (at least a decade) I thought about
building a ver...
