TAD TD-4001 2" driver on tractrix horn with 56cm bell (approximately 250Hz). TAD claims response from 600-20KHz. Given that the midbass is essentially a direct radiator (theref...

Thanks Gregm. It is interesting that I completely forgot the TAD PT-R9. I was looking at it 5-6 years back and spoke with AudioKinesis ‘Duke, who reportedly knows them well. My reservations that time were the very same as now: with 97.5 dB/W sensitiv...

Hi Romy and othersI am in the initial stage of planning a new home, which will have a dedicated music room. I noticed Romy in another thread you were impressed with the rough stone walling. This looks like a great way to disperse reflections. What I ...

and especially "perfectionists" markets like Germany. Sound is of a secondary importance. I bet the new driver from Cesarro will be field coil driver because that's what peoplewant NOW. They want "the best" and field coil is now the best. Roman , som...

Hi,I have just received a Yamamoto A-02 amplifier from Shigeki. It is a 2A3 / 45 switchable amp, not available in the EU. It is supposed to be Yammies top amplifier. I bought it in JP and sent it to Shigeki for new 230V transformer...

I never like anything TAD does. They used to have many years ago a very interesting 14-in driver, bass driver but still in this category is there very many good alternatives. Whatever they do has a huge infliction of compression. Back in 2000s I ...

I’m glad you talk about geometry, but to respond to this I have to refer to other brands. I will only talk about facts and hope it’s not offending anybody. My basic point is: the flare rate has to be coherent right from the entrance of phase plugs. In...

Romy Hi ,just a couple of things , in the Gamma there is another 1 inch TAD driver between the 4001 and the 703 , regarding the placement of the tweeter ,it is only recessed 3 or 4cm ,at a useable frequency range there will be negligible diffraction ...

I understand they still use TAD 703 and 4001. The 11" is from Supravox. No idea about the bass drivers. I liked this Cessaro demo much better than in previous years. ...

Romy I have not herd so much doulble talk in a long time. Some of the best sounding drivers on the market in the last 60 years, were for sound reinforcement. I do believe, in a 2 way speaker system crossed over at 800hz with a good wood horn i wil...

The room is beautiful, and I love the tree stump "rack" with the amps, it is clearly a work in progress, but they already put in the "Western Electric" badges on! It talks a lot about their priorities I guess! They have what seems to be a midrange ...

Romy,,I agree with most of what you say....But good audio engineering comes in small tiny increments,,when JBL introdiced the coherent phase plug..I said so what?? then the moved the position of the magnet,,I said so what??But they were getting ready...

thanks for the good infoactually we are developing a full horn-loaded speaker the bass-bin is just inspired by Klipsch La Scala (just like Volti speaker) with curved sides. the mid-range consists of TAD 4001/Beryllium in Edgar wooden Tractrix horn an...
