If you are still looking, there are a pair of vintage JBL 2482 Drivers with JBL 2328 horn throat adapters attached currently on Ebay. The guy says he also has another one he could sell as a single if you are still interested. http://cgi.ebay.com/VI...

Roman,I don't think I've ever read your explanation why not 2482? We are all on a holy grail path to find a (somehow) available good compression driver that can go down to almost 200hz in domestic conditions and there are not many better candidates. ...

Yes, there is a Radian replacement diaphragm for original JBL phenol ones. It's a 4" voice coil, aluminium alloy dome with mylar suspension. Looks good on paper but I don't know if it is good. The retail is $210, usually goes on Ebay around $160.So y...

Good start Dan!The JBL phenolic 2" driver is 2482.I would lower the crossover point as far as you dare, 300Hz or so.Now the 2226 will do what they are pretty good at.Later you will likely want to filter the 2445 around 2k.A 600Hz horn with a 1" drive...

ltsv38, it is an interesting solution for lower midrange horn. If I use something like this for Macondo ‘s fundamental channel (but of cause spherical) then I would flip the horn with driver up and run the neck longer to accommodate a slower, expone...

These are clearly JBL pots and back covers (which have been milled flat). The refinishing job is quite nice, but the origins are clear. Also, the phenolic diaphragm is clearly for the 2482/2485 (and looks like a JBL part), which has a slightly wider ...

My humble guess is that the titanium diaphragm won't ever give you the feeling you seek.JBL 2482 with its phenolic diaphragm may not be the quickest or most detailed, but has a truly wonderful tone that I never tire of....
