Last month, for fun, I decided to subscribe the Stereophile magazine.  Yesterday I got a July issue…I never thought that I might be a person who would have a reaction to the Stereophile's ordinary idiocy, the reaction that would force me to write about it, but there was something in there that made me to hiss…

Wavac offered to Stereophile to review their amplifier with a price tag of $350.000.00. Well, let assume (for example) that a price IS relevant to performance (very brave assumption within Hi-Fi) and for the 1/3 million dollars Wavac-manifacturer presumably made an OK amplifier, worth a serious attention and a serious evaluation  and analyses of it’s listening benefits.

So, what the Stereophile and the “estimable” Michael Fremer offer in responds to the Wavac efforts? They offer an article-review with such a shameful and absurd judgments, with such a primitiv evaluation and with such a retard reference points that the poor Japanese manufacturer should scream: “Gevolt!

Oh, I really should not be doing this post but the delta between the price tags of the contemporary audio gismos and the rapidly intensifying in their idiocy and ridiculousness audio evaluation methods to "push" those gismos is really upset me this morning…

Romy,

i'm about to let my subscription to Stereophool lapse---i only renewed last year because they practically gave it to me, $5.97 or something---and even at that price it's worthless. MF has been a sore topic with me from years ago when he worked at TAS, and i never understood how HP could tolerate a little ass like Fremer. of course i've been told that HP is a bigtime ass himself, so there you go. anyway, in the last two years i've yet to read anything useful by anyone other than Art Dudley, let alone interesting. but of course, without S'phile, the outstanding individuals on AA would have nothing to read and/or no reason to live.

i was just tipped-off to your site today, and couldn't resist registering.

good luck,

patrick
