CES – constant but fortunately final pain.

am i pregnant online quiz

am i pregnant or stressed quiz open

Each year (with a very few exceptions) approximately in the beginning of December, as it's today, I justify for yourself that CES show in Vegas will be a waste of my time and decide do not go. Later on, in the begining of the January, after the holydays are over, I change my mind and decide: “What the heck, why not?” Probably it is becose I’m more bored in January then the boredom of the CES… who knows…

Generally CES has very little value for me, though I admit that it "might" be educational. Each trip I was able to discover something very interesting but if to analyze what that was then it was not "at the CES" but "near the CES". Was it worth to fly 12 hours and expose myself to socializing with those audio-morons who infest the Alexis Park during those few days? Probably not....

Generally I not need anything from CES. I do not look forward to meet those people, and if I did than I with a great pleasure would see them drown in those Alexis Park pools. I do not need to have any “special meeting” with any manufacturers: there are people in audio industry with whom I might deal but we do not need to hug each other Vegas. I do not need to see those Nevada whores – the industry “reviewers” who run form the room to room with their idiotic aplomb and cheap pretentiousness.  I can go on and on but still... why do I write all of this?

Probably because I am much more Moron then I suspect and because I will be doing the comming SEC this year, the last time. I have to confess that I have a free fly this year from America West. In addition this year the Alexis Park will be hosting the CES for the very last time as the hotel will be demolished and rebuilt. Also, my enter playback and it's elements will not be presented at CES by anyone and it gives a very nice “special" feeling.

Anyhow, The Pussy will do her last trip at CES and then, as far as I concern, they could shut down the lights at that event. Over the years the most exiting for me event at CES were the salmon sandwiches at the Ali-Baba restaurant… Will anything else at the CES 2006 worth attention?

Rgs,
The Pussy

Thanks, Steve, though I believe you forget to mention to the room number where Alex Peychevs will be demonstrating.

His ideas, and products differ from yourself, but, ya gotta hear it to believe it.  He HATES all existing manufacturers with great Passion.  He designs everything himself.

Actually it never was my passion and I very much am not in opposition to many existing manufacturers. I unfortunately could not use them because they under perform but I have no animosity to the arrangement what audio people do absolutely nothing besides just buying the necessary audio tools and use them. I do have animosity to DIY movement but it is a different subject and I most likely I should cover it in a dedicated thread.

He will be showing his NWO1=New World Order #1 digital based on the Esoteric UX-1, His own Speakers, Amps, Cable, and I gotta tell you, I have NEVER heard a system sound as good as in his Fremont Ca. home.  His room SUCKS, no treatments, but UGH, the sound was GLORIOUS.

Interesting Steve. What do you feel the difference between the Alex’s Sound and the sound of the “existing manufacturers” that Alex hates?

Now, I have never heard your system, but, at the same time, I am having a friend build me a melquads, and a buddy off the Klipsch forums, build me some high end horns, ala Bob Crites, and Al Klappenberg.

Very interesting. When you finish your Melquiades projects and familiarize yourself with it's sound then. pleas.e post your observations. I think it might be mutually beneficial.

I know you are a vinylphile but, I own the APL 3910, and will shortly own the NWO1,  these are the BEST digital on the planet IMHO.

I’m not familiar with it but I went to Alex site and learned that he deals with EMM Lab’s high-resolution format. I always found their sound despicable and I did not know why, I have here in Boston a local audio engineer who is very deeply plugged into the system (probably deeper then Ed Meitner himself) and who finally explained me what EMM unfortunately Lab does. The Meitner’s initial wonderful DSD concept with his very well performing 4-bit converters died out in end of the 90s and then Meitner converted the DSD idea into SACD – or to a consumer single bid garbage producing system that output juts frequencies, phase and noises but no sound. The guy abandoned to observe Meitner since he moved from DSD to SACD as all following results were predictably devastating. What he was telling me very much correlates with what I heard listing the EMM Lab products. Not to mention that each single CASD that I unfortunately own are piled up in the “garbage shelf” and I found them unlistenable. I do not know what the “BEST digital on the planet” is but I have a feeling that it should not be related to any modified EMM Lab products due to their fundamental and conceptual weakness.

A good friend who has the nearfield pipedream 70's, 150K in eq. just got back from Ca.  He can no longer listen to his 2 channel system.  He is haunted too.

Well, if the guy has the Pipedream speakers by Nearfield Acoustics then I very much understand way he “no longer listens to his 2 channel system”. BTW, I was not able to find at the web site that you linked the Alex Peychevs’ speakers. Anyhow, thanks for the invitation and let me know in which room you audio will be demonstrated.
