Bill, what I find interesting is not the fact that the units vary one from the other in terms of measured performance, or each in its (in)ability to charge its own battery, rather I notice that you seem "happy" with the performance of all the units i...

Simply beyond any criticism. The Purepower bass was something that sold me on the very first unit in June 2007. The very first Purepower 1050 had the same type of bass. What kind bass? Well, if juts did not “improve” it and did not modified it ...
Every case of a "dedicated ground" I have seen, including my own, involves only the redundant "ground" wire. The "ground" wire may not be useful for every component, and it can actually introduce noise in some cases.
Toda...
I am quite sure it is a ground issue, as it is noise coming from the loudspeakers regardless of source or volume. Lifting the grounds on the amplifiers… eliminates the problem.
If it so them there is no need to contact t...
Okay, today I hooked it up and have spend some time listening. The change in my system was very dramatic and positive. First of all, it seems suddenly like a good electricity day. The noise floor dropped out. The timbre of the mus...
Without its own source of power it would be impossible to truly isolate the PurePower output from the incoming utility power. That is why there is no difference in sound when the PurePwoer is on battery or it is on utility sup...

Well, I think the short answer is yes. What the people over at Technical Support have told me is that this is due to the power supply design of the amplifiers that are being driven by the PP2000 and that it seems to be characteristic of certain types ...

Adrian, you have not posted any updates about the unit apart from the hum issues, so I am wondering if the unit remains in your system mostly because you paid so much for it.For instance, have the HF problems you mentioned earlier been resolved? If ...

I called to Audience and I spoke with their sales manager.
It was very little that I did not expect and I let him to run his sales pitch. Or course it never intended to be a commercial product, they did it for own home use but it was so good ...
Romy, this is very interesting indeed. I'm assuming that the sonic difference between these two files is in line with the sonic difference you hear between bad and good 'electricity' days when you're just listening to music,...

Romy says: I like when my playback is driven from one single PP2000. I
will make more experiment of course but as now is what I’m witnessing.
This configuration with single PP2000 has a number of Sonic advantages.Boy do I feel validated...

Hi Emanuele,FWIW, I've been disappointed with my PP2000 (the 230V model). I love the sound then it's running from battery, but think it totally destroys the sound when running under 'regenerator' mode. And as Romy has pointed out, this is totally una...

Hello all I've had my pp2000 now for 3 years and could not be any happier with it in my system. Recently I've noted a 60 cycle sound faintly coming from my speakers. When i install a ground cheater or unplug the unit it goes away. Has any of you expe...

If you ground one pp2000 to the wall, then ground the chassis of the other two or units to that one, then the noise should flow through the chassis to the single ground and not back to the hots. Then all units should have clean current from the hot....
Also, when I switch from AC to battery, the output voltage (as measured by a true RMS voltmeter) INCREASES by between 3-4V. Now, I am NOT suggesting that this increase in voltage is causing the difference in SQ. However...
The overheating she refers to occurred on a small sub board that provides charging current to the battery string. It happens that we made a minor change in location of the board when we started full production that moved it o...
PP has the ultimate tool that allows detecting a LOT about its operation. Do you observe the same behavior as you describe when you pull out the power cord and let the unit to run from internal battery?
I made experi...

Ok, Lx, that does makes more sense. Perhaps I misunderstood you as the impression I got from you was that you recognize some instant events through the PP in reaction to events outside of the PP. THAT is imposable in my view. You did well describe no...

Steverino, I've asked same question to PurePower who kindly contacted me: If a moving around battery could have caused the issue? Waiting for the answer. My quick visual inspection did not show any obvious irregularities though.
We routinely operate our 230 volt models with two phase +/- 120 volt input.
That's interesting. I use a couple of 5KVA balanced transformers. I tried to feed my 240V PP2000 with one of them, but the output was non-symm...

You might change your mind after you put the PP2000 into the game. Anyhow, I do not know what Bruce did with his Titans tweeter; I do not even remember it they are in time-aligned position. The EdgarHorn Titans uses Fane ST-5022 bullet tweeter. I had...

I did of cause run an experiment with Metal Diaphragms while the PP2000 was in play, I think I have written about it somewhere. My findings were absolutely the same as yours. ...
I plug it for a first time today. It looks like it is sensitive like hell and I did not hear any titanium problems on it even without low pass filter. I do not have infrastructure now to look into it further.
I ...

then everyone here will just read, "gullible". However I admit to being totally hypnotized by the Duelund spiel, which I find oddly compelling despite no real, "serious" information apart from the sort mystical, quasi-reverential ...

Paul,
You certainly have an attitude toward the subject and I have no idea why. The subject of this thread, or put in this way - the subject of my interest, is how to deal with electricity problem and how to provide a playback with stable (sou...

Is it possible that you are listening and/or hearing things a little differently by now, having had the PP2000 as a reference for a while? The current traces seem to show what I hate about the capacitors in the "big power supplies", that they put...

Upper range effect is amassing, though not much different then with other regenerators. With PS Audio’s Power Plant the compression at MF-HF is also reduced or eliminated and that ugly heavy dense pressure blanket got lifted. The Power Plant while do...
At the same time, I am wondering about what sources you have been using. I mentioned early on that the Jubilee is polite, and I wonder what the Shelter might sound like with the "softer power", just with respect to a capac...
