Micro Seiki SX 111FV Platter Removal
fiogf49gjkf0d
Could someone help me get the platter off of this air bearing monster? It works well enough, but the brass is deeply tarnished from years of hand-assisted starts and stops. Can't effectively refinish it on the plinth. I assume that after unscrewing the top of the spindle, the platter should lift off the tapered main shaft. It's pretty snug, so I'm planning to use soft wooden wedges around the edge, and give the shaft a few sharp wacks with a plastic-faces hammer. Sound reasonable?
Thanks for any help, Cam
