Thank you very much Romy for sharing these beautiful thoughts! Resonates pretty much with my own experience. I've observed already quite some time ago that the bigger the tension, effort, in a sense of hard working through, and even anger while b...

"...like the Alchemist, each of us has to find It in the sound for ourselves."
Exactly! The Sound It is like the philosophers' stone and the claim is that the ...

I still highly recommend making the intellectual effort (was quite substantial for me) and reading that Jung chapter. You might recognize in his analysis of alchemists quite a few psychological things you have been talking about in audio for yea...

Gentlemen, working with mathematics as a tool all my adult life I cannot understand your fascination with Goedel's thm here. Yes, it is catchy but I think it does not apply here, it's a rigid math/logic fact, and what's more even leads astray in unde...

[quote user="Romy the Cat"]Jarek, is a man who

feeling that he does not have the ONE that fulfil ALL his expectation and his

That’s one solution to one-wife ‚problem’. Having multiple cartridges and tonearms to some extent does the same.Btw Amir Audio from Tehran this is you Amir?...

Adrian, no luck in finding it. It the cable thread it is not.
I've shown your post to an Australian fellow Martin who knows, among 1000 other things, a big deal about welding so he might have ideas how to weld different metals incl. tungsten....

For what's its worth but our common acquaintance David K did describe to me your sound as "too brainly" once so perhaps not only you feel that intellectual burden?? Pity I've never had a chance to listen to your Macondo. I actually like intellectuall...

Perhaps I'm in a minority here, but while I enjoy your videos, I very much prefer your old style writing :)
If I read you correctly the big midbass did not release the "intellectual tension/demand" of Macondo/Milq. ...

I think I can imagine how a complex, sophisticated presentation can be too "unnecessarily demanding", in lieu of a better phrase, in a long run in family life circumstances. I sometimes suffer similar problems (I imagine others too).

Interesting, could you pls post the link?...

What I'm contemplating is an "audiophile" fuse *before* the PP. I have a dedicated AC line with its own fuse, which I can change easily. Right now there is a good German industrial fuse with silver platted contacts, polished and dielectric grease...

...is possibly what I call a 'sparkle'. Amir, you seem to have quite some experience with PP. How did other systems you tested react to PP?
Anyone here with 'audiophile fuses' experience? I'm considering trying one 10x38 mm befo...

By "more alive" you mean artificially alive? In my case, PP resulted in more engagement, not sure if this is a result of aliveness. It does inject 20kHz all over the place that might add some "sparkle". I have dedicated AC line + GND for the PP dow...

I had the same experience with PP Richard - very supportive. That was at least my experience - I was fighting a phono grounding issue, well documented up this thread, and Richard was helping a lot with his advise and expertise.

...you write, gentlemen. But after 5+ yrs of trying my luck in high end audio I completely agree that it is a parody of itself. It has long migrated from technology market to the luxury goods one, still keeping that tech disguise. And with luxury goo...

...a fantastic PR (a studio in Rome, speakers in MoMA, etc) there is one interesting thing in all their products. The use of cast iron. A material barely explored in audio with a very very good damping characteristics. Much better than all kinds of s...

IIRC, Viborg uses what they call red copper, which is probably red brass - a high Cu content brass, quite a bit harder than pure Cu. Visually and under a few strokes of a metal saw (I wanted to check if this is not a plating) behaves indeed like a 'h...

Everyone's bitching on silver clad Cu. I never bothered to try. ...

Paul,
I found it Viborg, they offer in fact pure copper (non-plated) connectors too. No idea about the price, and they don't have the "chuck locking" the Supra PPSL have.
EDIT: European prices in HERE....

Alex, where exactly have you added your big cap bank? The second stage cathode is at the ground. Do you mean the exit of the filament supply which serves to bias the second stage? ...

I needed to lift my PP1500 off the carpet as it had not enough air circulation. Somewhere in the PurePower materials I read that vibration isolation is advisable, so I decided to kill two birds with one stone. I've got a set of nice metal roller foot...

Paul, what I mean by 'Drain GND' is your idea of a GND cable connected at one end only. I have no access to mother earth and cannot install a dedicated rod. To avoid confusion, below is my actual power line and GND scheme.
As for...

A bit of the background. Before acquiring the PP, the whole system had been moved from it's previous location in Gdansk to a new one in Warsaw. New, busy city, new apartment, new electricity. Straight after the move and connected to the new house...

Mani, I haven't done yet an honest A/B comparison PP vs wall, PP off, PP on, but what I hear I would not describe as a 'sparkle'. Unlike Romy's and others' experiences, at the beginning I had some HF harshness rather than HF shyness. No idea why, but...

I want to kiss this damn thing! I agree with Romy that hearing a good FM redefines what a (true) high-end is. For the past 5 days I've been listening for live FM streams of baroque concerts from Gdansk http://www.actushumanus.com/

2) OUTPUT STUDY
I decided to check what my PP outputs. After some listening my HF is harsher than I would like plus on older equipment (like Sansui TUX1) I can sometimes hear a gentle transformer whistling, suggesting high harmon...

1) GND NOISE
After more experiments, I can proclaim a victory over the 100Hz noise on my End of life phono. For whatever reason the GND connection does not want to run in a close physical proximity of the line and n...

Thanks Romy, this seems the most practical solution. I will connect a wire to the gnd terminal at the phono inputs and see where it wants to go: power strip, PP or wall ground. I have two more questions:
-- the cable you run from...
