Yes, I've been meaning to aquire such things for quite a while now.
The biggest obstacle is that I think I need to format the drive and do a clean install of XP (or Vista).

I did some audiophile trick with the system and since then XP doesn't acknowledge any "Primary Audio Device". I don't remember what I did, but know I've tried a lot of things to fix it.

I can't use the soundcard input (for the microphone), and I can only output sound using a few audio programs such as Winamp, specifically choosing "AC'97" instead of "Primary Sound Driver".
I tried reinstalling Win XP, but it didn't help.
If you get a "Try this!" idea, then it's very welcome!

Just thinking out loud:
Mic, Mic stand, Mic cables, Mic preamp, file backup, install XP (get a new version?), True RTA, Phase Tester.
