Thanks again, Robin. I hear you. If a good hi-fi "gets out of the way", it "allows the Music". Fortunately, there is a lot of room for Music, and how wonderful it is that "the same Music can sound different" over time and circumstance. It has long seemed to me that any Music might be spoiled by people who are preoccupied by, say, technique, and I think this was part of the stilted performances with borrowed instruments I have heard. Not to say one will never hear exceptions; in fact, I love exceptions, am generally delighted with them.
