I'm sorry that I am not on the wavelength that you wanted to use with this thread. With respect to your examples, yes it is good to try to play music in accordance with the attributes the composer expected, including the frequency of orchestral A, the tuning system used etc. Even research on tempos and bowing can make a notable difference in clarifying many scores. The few high masterpieces can survive a certain amount of trampling and still sound like something. However the merely excellent requires interpretation more sensitive to the original intent to come alive usually.
