Maybe I'm not following novygera but isn't that what electrostatic speakers already do? I mean the full range ones. I thought some of Magnepan's smaller models only had quasi ribbon drivers also. I agree that it is not likely that one type of speaker driver composition can Reproduce all the distinct sounds from a given recording the way its done now. The question is whether some AI audio component would be able to figure out how to Generate the sound with particular characteristics that would result in the speaker emitting the source sound exactly. It's difficult to state simply so I apologize for being confusing. The AI component would be generating a different version of whatever audio source material entered into it. It would be like a notation program playback in some sense. You would give it the Beethoven Symphony 9 score and tell it to play it backĀ like Stokowski performed it at a certain concert and it would know how to do that and tailor the sound for your listening room. Currently notation programs like Finale or Sibelius already have moderately sophisticated playback options of scores.
