I think the main idea, like you say, is to enjoy.
For someone to take the time every day or even every week to sit down and relax a couple of hours and just listen to music, and close thier eyes and concentrate on Mozart or even Patricia Barber is a wonderful thing.  If somebody is spending time and money pursuing this activity it means they are on the same road, one can be more advanced on the road than the other, but we are still taking a couple of hours at least every couple of days to relax and enjoy the music.

Every form of art feeds your brain, makes more sinapsis inside your head and makes you grow a little in a good way.  I am all for it! Even if it is a Ghetto Blaster or some little Speakers with SS amp, or Huge Horns with DHT triodes,  the level of awareness in our life as "music lovers" will grow as our level of awareness in our musical tastes and our gear, no matter of we make our own gear or buy the most expensive shit around, we are on the same road and it is a good road!  I see no need for the SS people to fight the Tube people or the Digital Vs analog, or the DIY against anything! We are all brother wiht the same activity, sit down and listen to music.

When I was younger I couldnt afford a CD player,  they had just come out and all my friends were hurrying me up to buy a CD player I could not afford,  shit, I had to stick with my TT and Lps untill the early 90s!  I had to stick to my Electro Voice TRX12 speakers because there was no internet and no way of knowing there was better gear out there!  No way I could blame someone for the making the mistakes I made,  maybe in a few years I will be buying the most expensive little monitors or making a huge Bass horn (more likely)!  Who knows where the road might lead us!
