It can take me months to pan randomly through a given issue of Stereophile, but Fremer's review of the SS Vitus MO-P201 phonostage caught my attention this month.
Mike actually clearly states that this 2-box item is better than the Boulder 2008. Well, for the price, it ought to; but at least you get what you pay for, right?
Subtle-ish suggestions pepper the review that the unit may want for some (continuity?) something that, according to Mike, can only be gotten from tubes (again, the Vitus is SS).
Never having heard this unit, still I wonder, who would spend a significant amount on any phonostage that did not offer a coherent, easily-repeatable variety of playback curves? Not I.
