I've been kicking around the Stupid and Lazy Version of this for some time, where one simply runs two different, "characteristic-[un]matched" drivers on the same frequency band.  Oops... So, why not the same drivers pushed by the same amps that are loaded differently?  I am still not sure why it would be better to "alternate" drivers, each according to it's "strength", at any given time.  Moreover, I just draw blanks when I try to imagine an acceptable real time approach to "dividing" the drive amplification per desired "TTH curve"...

All this is actually already done with digital, of course (more or less...).

I realize I am stuck in "digital solution mode" when I can't think my way around DSP for this, how to run an active/adaptive algorithmic "reader"/server without a "high-speed program" to read it, store it and serve it quickly enough...

My old, tired brain is just barely thinking it dimly remembers some sort of recording industry analog "delay" scheme that allowed similar-type processing in "altered/real" time.

Best regards,
Paul s
