This part I do not understand as well. I would like to see the screenshot of Mixer as well. The Synchro Lock must be engaged ether via a dedicated wordclok cable or to read the sampling marks right in the current AES line. Otherwise you get the wobbleling clocks, which is not good. I would like to have more information about what is wrong with Sound. I have absolutely identical setup and I have absolutely not distinguishable sound between Sansui and Sansui-AD/DA chains.
